Throughout this 2 hour PD session, teachers will learn the fundamental elements to creating strong cooperative learning structures in their classrooms. They will learn how to pair students and create a seating chart that maximizes learning for all students in the classroom. The majority of the PD will focus on learning basic Kagan cooperative learning structures, watching video of these structures, and practicing rolling out these structures to in a classroom. Finally, teachers will learn how to incorporate movement and positive gambits into cooperative learning structures. By the end of the PD, teachers will have ideas for structuring cooperative learning that is accountable and builds positive interdependence among students- and can be used daily through many different parts of a lesson varying in content.
