Workshop: SESIS 101 and Using SESIS Reports for Special Education Advocacy and Compliance

In this workshop, participants will learn the basics of the NYCDOE’s Special Education Student Information System (SESIS). This overview training of SESIS, including basic navigation, searching student documents, and a discussion on roles and responsibilities of Charters and CSEs. The session will provide information on running reports, logging attendance, progress monitoring, and documenting parental and CSE outreach. In addition, the session will explore best practices and how to troubleshoot common issues in SESIS. The second half of this workshop will explore how to run compliance reports to better organize information for advocacy with the CSE. This is a critical workflow for addressing compliance issues related to missing services, delayed evaluations, and more.
Attendees must bring a fully charged laptop.
