Margarita Florez is the Managing Director of Learning for KIPP LA. As a founding school leader, she led KIPP Comienza Community Prep, a school with more than 50% ELLs, to academic success with scores in the 94th percentile on the California Standards Tests. Join Margarita in this ELL focused conference as she shares the tools and strategies she used to lead her scholars, staff, and school to success. Topics covered include unpacking Common Core standards, content and language objectives, language forms and functions, effective checks for understanding, and questions for short and long-term assessment.
