Over the past two years, Achievement First collectively built skill in behavior intervention. Two years ago, we focused on the structures, specifically setting up a GLCST and CST. Last year, we focused on the components of behavior intervention, such as functions of behavior, teaching replacement behaviors, and using reinforcement to incentivize replacement behaviors. (The bulk of time together was spent workshopping plans on paper.) This coming year, we took a big step forward to focus on execution. Our big goal was to significantly improve the execution of behavior intervention by focusing on leader MODELLING and DRILLS/PRACTICE to use to develop teacher skill.
This PD is focused on:
• Adapting 4 simple Tier 2 plans and creating an agenda for rolling out the plan.
• Practicing rolling out the plans, including modeling key components of the plan (to ensure strong implementation).
Suggested Audience: General Education Teachers, Special Education Teachers, Deans/Coaches, School Leaders
