The LEA representative is the individual who is responsible for ensuring that the District’s IEP meeting procedures are legally correct. Do you have the knowledge and skills for running a legally-compliant IEP meeting? The IEP is a school district’s blueprint for the provision of a free, appropriate public education to children with disabilities, and there are a myriad of requirements for writing legally-compliant IEPs. This session will provide participants with an overview of legal requirements and best practices for professionals who serve as LEA representatives, and provide a comprehensive analysis of IEP requirements under the Individuals With Disabilities Education Act and its implementing regulations, as well as case law interpreting these requirements.
Suggested Audience: Administrators, Special Education Coordinators/Leads
