Teachers will explore best practices in order to elicit student voice and empower students to have more choice and autonomy in the classroom and their learning. Participants will consider principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), particularly around engagement, and discuss concrete examples of how to include more student choice and voice in daily learning. We will also address strategic problem solving strategies for whole class, small group and individual students. These strategies can be used in order to better engage and empower students to address academic, social/emotional and behavioral aspects of learning.
