NYC Special Education Collaborative
111 Broadway, Suite 604, New York, NY 10006
This workshop will give you an overview of the law relating to disciplining children with special education needs and provide you with hands-on training and critique. The goal of this session will be to train educators in being active participants in MDR and suspension procedures and to provide educators the tools to review and create school documents to support your school’s policies and procedures. You will have an opportunity to raise issues pertaining to your specific school’s needs, and time will be incorporated during the workshop so that your school’s needs can be addressed on an individual basis. Participants will take part in mock disciplinary hearings and receive constructive criticism in a risk-free and supportive environment.
