Unlike more visibly under-represented groups, lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) persons cannot be readily identified. This combination of both Safe Space training and an LGBTQ panel discussion will allow participants to become trained in providing a safe space for LGBTQ identified people and learn from a panel of school experts in supporting students that identify as being LGBTQ. The Safe Space Program is an initiative to educate allies who support LGBTQ individuals in your campus community, and our panelists will speak to ensuring a safe environment for all of your students.
The Special Education collaborative is excited to host this free community event in partnership with Renaissance Charter School.
Presenter: Renaissance Charter School and GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network)
