Needs, Wants, Wishes and Dreams: Programs and Services that Bring Relief to Parents of Children with Disabilities
January 21, 2014
NYC Special Education Collaborative
111 Broadway, Suite 604, New York, NY 10006
This interactive workshop will give you an overview of the programs, services and systems that can empower parents of children with special needs and disabilities. We will share our already existing knowledge base and expand from there to learn about the many “treasures” of NYC available to families caring for children with disabilities. Learn how you can support those children and families so they can find relief from the various difficulties they encounter in life.
The session will be presented in a multi-sensory interactive manner. We will engage in games, activities, case studies, questions and answers, using our already existing knowledge as a springboard to expand into new and exciting areas of family support services for parents of children with disabilities. You will have an opportunity to raise any and all issues pertaining to children with disabilities and their families.
