Mini-Conference: The Together Professional with Maia Heyck-Merlin
December 10, 2014
8:30 AM - 1:30 PM
NYC Charter School Center - Training Room
111 Broadway, Suite 604 New York, NY 10006
As a professional, are you juggling one too many lists or calendars? Have your To-Do lists strangely multiplied? Do you have stories of waking up in the middle of the night and remembering a long overdue deadline? Are you constantly pulled into the Crisis of the Day with no time to focus on what really matters? Do you notice teachers following you down hallway to get answers to e-mails? Perhaps yellow Post-it notes have inadvertently become the decorating strategy du jour in offices? The Together Professional workshop will focus on the purpose, process, and usage of the following five tools: the Comprehensive Calendar, the Upcoming To-Do List, Thought Catchers, Meeting Notes and the Daily/Weekly Worksheet. Emphasis will be placed on planning ahead, prioritizing clearly, increasing efficiency and improving follow-through. Participants will learn why they need each tool and how it’s different from what they might be using now. Leaders will also review various samples and then select or build customized versions that work for them. At the end of the workshop, each participant will have created a personalized and complete organization system that withstands the pressures of working in schools or school-supporting environments.
Attendees are required to complete a survey prior to attending the workshop. These surveys will be sent out several weeks prior to the the workshop.
