This interactive session is a must for any teacher, administrator or special education director who has been working to create more inclusive schools, or wishes to do so. Filled with useful ideas and strategies, this interactive class will cover HOW to create inclusive schools from the district, to the classroom level, to the student level. Presenter Julie Causton has worked to reform dozens of schools across the country to become more inclusive, and these inclusive efforts have yielded dramatic achievement results for students with and without disabilities. She has provided independent educational evaluations in several due process hearings and just completed writing a book entitled 30 Days to Effective Co-Teaching. Dr. Causton’s dynamic presentation will focus on responsive, and engaging ways to educate children with autism, challenging behavior, or any disability label within the context of general education. Attendees will leave with a deep understanding of exclusive education, along with many strategies to help create and maintain an inclusive school or community.
