In this session, school-based social workers and counselors will learn and practice proven techniques for supporting teachers who work with high-need students. Teachers are the front line resource in supporting students, and school-based mental health staff can strengthen and streamline their practice by leveraging the resource that is the classroom teacher. Together, we’ll talk about how social workers and counselors can reach out to teachers and coach them in supporting the behavior and learning of students with whom they struggle. Our session will focus on the use of evidence-based approaches, and save time to practice the skills we discuss and learn.
