February 5, 2016
1:00 - 3:30 PM
New York Historical Society
170 Central Park West, New York, NY 10024
Presented by The New York Historical Society
In this hands-on session – the second in a two-part series – seasoned educators from the NYHS will build on the strategies in Part 1 (October 28) and extend into the realm of using visual aids to drive student learning. Participants will practice the deconstruction and analysis of visuals and discuss how using these strategies in the classroom can provide a powerful learning opportunity for all students, particularly those with language and learning needs. Attendees will walk away with classroom-ready strategies and sample lessons to scaffold this inquiry-based work for their students.
