ELL Workshop: PART 1: Inquiry-based Strategies for Engaging Your Special Populations
October 28, 2015
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
NYC Charter School Center - Training Room
111 Broadway, Suite 604, New York, NY 10006
Presented by The New York Historical Society
In this hands-on, interactive workshop, seasoned educators from the New York Historical Society will model classroom-ready techniques designed to engage students in critical thinking through guided observation, hands-on analysis, and student-driven conversation about artifacts. The session – the first in a two-part series – will explore how these activities build analytical skills that can be applied across subject areas, including science and math. Attendees will walk away with a plan for how to use these activities in their classroom to make academic content accessible for all learners.
**Note, this event is organized by the NYC Charter School Center and does not detract from Special Education Collaborative member seat allotments. Consider it a freebie!
