Diagnostic and Prescriptive Teaching Using the Cognitive Model

Students who are identified with reading disabilities/difficulties struggle for a different reasons. In order to determine what intervention is most appropriate for each individual student, teachers must be familiar with a variety of diagnostic assessments. Participants will be given a list of guiding questions and assessments that can be used to answer questions for each of the core components of comprehensive literacy instruction.  The morning session will target special educators in grades K-5, the afternoon session will target special educators in grades 6-12.
