NYC Special Education Collaborative
111 Broadway, Suite 604, New York, NY 10006
Through training in CPI’s Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, attendees will develop prevention strategies for safely defusing anxious, hostile, or violent behavior at the earliest possible stage. Attendees will learn to organize thinking about how behavior escalates and how to respond appropriately during moments of crisis. By utilizing group discussions, role-plays and activities, attendees will leave the session with certification in verbal de-escalation and personal safety by the Crisis Prevention Institute to support students and staff in moments of crisis. In order to qualify for official certification, attendees must be present for the full length of the training.
