The concept of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) has taught us that many of the barriers to learning are due to the inaccessibility of the content we deliver to our students. For over 30 years innovative educators have employed a vast number of Assistive Technologies (AT) within their classrooms to address the many obstacles that may inhibit active student participation. Students with learning and sensory challenges (and even English Language Learners) have benefited in countless ways from such technologies that make learning more accessible. This half day workshop will present attendees with information and demonstrations of readily available tools built into classroom technologies as well as various affordable apps and online tools that empower student participation across all subjects.
Suggested Audience: Teachers, Related Service Providers, Special Education Coordinators/Lead
