2014-15 Workshop: Counseling Groups 9/23/2014
September 23, 2014
NYC Charter School Center - Training Room
111 Broadway, Suite 604 New York, NY 10006
Group work is a powerful modality for supporting young people succeed in school. Group work can also maximize the number of students a counselor or social worker sees in a given day, and provides “real time” opportunities for students to interact socially with the support of a professional. In this two-part training, you will receive specific support and guidance around how to bolster the group work program at your school site. In addition, participants will discuss “front end” preparation for setting up an results-driven group work program, including issues of group composition, group structure, designing curriculum and eliciting buy-in from administrators. Session two will be delivered in November (TBD).
